with text

The manual (Appendix E) lists: http://www.cacas.org/java/gnu/regexp as
the reference for their regular expression library. From:

     http://www.cacas.org/java/gnu/regexp/syntax.html

It would appear to match exactly 8 A or Bs would be:

     [A-B]{8}     or just     [AB]{8}

To match 1 to 8 As or Bs would be:

     [AB]{1,8}

To match 8 or more As or Bs:

     [AB]{8,}

The documentation does say they may switch to a different regexp package
in a future release. You may want to ask Gregor and company what they
have in mind.

I hope that helps.

Frank
