Hello Bob,

currently (and I'm not sure whether we'll overcome this limitation in the
future) you can't record checks in SWT on the items of the cascade menu.
What you can do is inserting 'Check text' nodes manually (first record a
selection on an item to get the corresponding component id).

Another approach makes use of Jython scripting. The following 'SUT script'
for example prints a list of all 'Help' menu items into the run-log:

# adapt the component id accordingly
help = rc.getComponent("menu-help")
menu = help.getMenu()
itemNames = []
for item in menu.getItems():

You may easily adapt it to your needs, i. e. insert a check whether a
specified name appears in the list.

Best regards,

I'm running an application under Eclipse 3.3. We've added an item to
Help on the main taskbar.

What I'm trying to do is this: Open the Help list and then check to see
if the item we added appears.

Here is how I'm trying to do it: Turn on recording, open the Help menu
and then do a text check on the bottom item of the Help Menu.

The problem: After selecting check mode (F12), when I right-click on the
added item, I don't get any response. There is no sub-menu for "Current
value",  "Image", "Geometry", "Node", etc.

Question: Is there a way to check the text of items in the menus of the
Main Taskbar items? Besides not working with Help, we have also added
several items to the taskbar. I can't access them either and we want to
check all the items in those menus. Is there a way that I can use the
check function to check the value/text in these menus.
