Hi Pat,

for the record I'm posting the result of our discussion to the list:

Java WebStart is highly unstable during its startup phase, so you'll
need to set some delays for startup. The exact timing is different for
each machine and SUT, so you'll need to experiment a little.

There were some important fixes for WebStart in the latest QF-Test
releases. If you're working with a current version, please add a call
to the procedure qfs.swing.startup.setDelays from our standard library
qfs.qft:
