Hi John,

yes - this is possible: we used this approach within our project.

Without confirming to collect all information I note below a few points we did:
  • we defined a tag QFTEST_ERROR in the LogParserPublisher.xml
    <hudson.plugins.logparser.ParserRuleFile>
          <name>QFTEST_ERROR</name>
          <path>/var/lib/jenkins/qftest_parsing_rules</path>
    </hudson.plugins.logparser.ParserRuleFile>

    In the file we put the one line: warning /QFTEST FAILURE/
    (We handle a QFTest failure only as warning but not as error)

  • For the jenkins job we created a script which calls the QFTest or QFTestSuite to execute which results in QFTEST SUCCESS or QFTEST FAILURE.
    This script we call in the jenkins job configuration element "execute shell"

  • In the "console ouput parsing" element we defined to use as parsing rule "QFTEST_ERROR"

Hope this helps

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Kind regards / Sincères salutations

Hi,

I’m launching QFTest from Jenkins, which performs a “Run QF-Test” build step to execute a QF-Test test suite (I’m using the QFTest 1.0.2 Jenkins plugin).

I would like to either pass or fail the enclosing Jenkins job based on the result of the QFTest tests.  Is that possible ?

(For example, if greater than zero errors occurred when executing the QF-Test tests, fail the Jenkins job).

Best regards,

John
