Re: [QF-Test] How to show SUT output in batch mode?

Hello Frank,

that can't be done directly, but indirectly it's possible. You can
place "Server script" nodes in Jython at strategic places in your
test-suite that get the output of the SUT and print that (replace XXX
with the client name of your SUT):

output = rc.lookup("qftest", "client.output.XXX")
print output

Of course, if you want to do that repeatedly while the SUT is running,
yet but prevent the same output from being printed multiple times,
things are more difficult:

global outsize

try:
    # will raise an exception if outsize is not defined yet
    outsize
except:
    # in which case we initialize it to 0
    outsize = 0

output = rc.lookup("qftest", "client.output.XXX")
if len(output > outsize):
    print output[outsize:]
outsize = len(output)

A prerequisite to this is using a shell that actually shows QF-Test's
output. On Unix this is not problem. The standard Windows console will
not print it, but cygwin bash, other Unix shells for Windows, or cmd
run as a shell inside Emacs will.

Best regards,
    Greg
