Merging is the way to go here. Just be sure everyone is using the same
settings for component recording, e.g. "Name override mode", etc.

That's a problem independent of how you organize your test-suite.
However, with a central repository there'll be only one representation
for each component in which you'll have to update the name.

If your names  are unique per window so you can set the two "Name
override mode" options to override everything, qftestJUI will allow
for a lot of change. It'll be hard to get better results than that.
Just don't change the names later :-) (But as I said, if you do you'll
just have to update the component representations).
