I could see only one error in the Script.
In the 'if asHtml' you should use 'add() ' instead of new creation of
the variable 'msg':
if asHtml:
msg.attach(MIMEText("text","html"))
else:
msg.attach(MIMEText("text","plain"))
If you do not explicitly need to attach binaries you can safely use the
MIMEText also for the attached file.
