Re: [QF-Test] Feature request: Inverted XOR and difference for image checks

Hello Greg,
I made a misunderstanding here, because I described both highlighted difference and xor.
The highlighted difference is actually helpful if there are really just small differences and should be as it is.

The xor is what I wanted to be inverted. See, if you just xor the colors, you will get the negative of the image, so if you invert it, you will get the colors right, and the similarities will be white. This can be useful when you have a slight difference in a colored graph with multiple lines. If the image would be inverted I can directly see which line has offset.

Best regards,

Hello Marek,

for me, the difference image is the most important one in cases where there is no offset and minimal differences in the color values, so it can't be spotted in any of the other versions. In the difference image, the pixels with different values clearly stand out and when you move the mouse pointer of such a pixel you'll see both color values shown above the image.

In such a case, the actual difference between the values is so close to black anyways, that your suggestion - is I understand it correctly
- would only result in an inverse of the current difference image.

Best regards,
