Hello Marek,

which version of QF-Test and Adobe Reader is installed on your machine.
There were some recent changes to the latest Adobe Reader version
(Acrobat Reader DC) and therefore the procedure
qfs.autowin.acrobat.savePDF was not working not correctly for inline
displayed PDF files.
This issue was fixed in QF-Test 4.0.7 and you can grab the download
under : https://www.qfs.de/de/qftest/download.html

If you just want to check for some text in the PDF file you could also
use qfs.autowin.acrobat.saveAsText to save the entire content of the PDF
as a text file. This file you could then check for example using
qfs.utils.files.checkFileForContent.

Best regards,
     Thomas

Hello QF-Test enthusiasts,

I have a problem with checking pdf files opened in a browser. I am using
the ie browser and my url leads to a redirection to a pdf file.

When I was testing pdf reports in my last job, I have converted the pdf
to a bunch of images and then compared each image with an etalon.

In QF test I don’t know where to get the pdf files opened in the browser
or how to save them. Then I guess I could be able to convert them again
to png and compare them.

I’ve tried using the qfs.autowin.acrobat.savePDF procedure, but it
didn’t work.

Then I tried comparing the screenshots of the entire browser window, but
it didn’t work well either because of the multiple pages, which I
couldn’t scroll down.

So I ask, how do you test pdf files?

Thanks for any help!

Marek Nedved
