Hello,

when running on different machines or operating systems, the SUT's windows may be at different size resulting in failed image checks with size mismatches.

You should always ensure to have your windows being the same size.

To do so please insert a 'Component event' with COMPONENT_RESIZED and specify the component ID of the window itself.

Define a size which is possible at all machines.

Please see:

http://www.qfs.de/qftest/manual/en/events.html#step_ComponentEventStep

You can also define an 'Actual check region inside image' at the 'Check image' node. For example, if there’s a part at the right which you don’t care about, then you can define a region for the left part only. QF-Test will then check this part only and accept larger images because it ignores the got size if it's large enough. Please see:

http://www.qfs.de/qftest/manual/en/checks.html#step_CheckImageStep

You can also have a look at QF-Test's advanced image checks. There you can  find the possibility to resize images before checking, but then got image will get scaled.

Please see:

http://www.qfs.de/qftest/manual/en/tech_imagealgorithmdetails.html#sec_imagealgorithmdetails

A sample algorithm for scaling/resizing the image could be:

algorithm=similarity;expected=0.98;resize=true

But I think first of all  you should take care of identically sized windows at all testing machines.

Best regards,

     Michael

Subject: [QF-Test] Size mismatch Error problem

Hi,

I need to check some images with different Windows versions. The problem is, that the size of the images varies slightly for the differentwindowsversions and I get Size mismatch Errors. Is there a possibility to ignore Size mismatch Errors or avoid them with QF Test?

Thanks,

Markus Arnold
