1. You have full acces on you SUT in jython scripts. Which mean you cand call java methods on any component .
 You can even interact with inner objects of your SUT that are not GUI components.
 That may be usefull to quickly populate models, or achieve "not GUI related" checks.

2. I'm not sure of what you mean here.

3. yes you can call procedures from jython scripts.
