[QF-Test] passing global variable from command line to test-suite

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have created a dummy test to try to understand the way variables work in qftest. I have added a variable at Test-Suite level calling it '$(server)'

I have tried to call this test-suite from command line using -variable server="abc.com" and command ran with no exceptions

Then I went to results and noticed that the variable was still not set

I then added a server script to a Test-Case level and tried to use rc.setGlobal() and rc.lookup() function suggested so many times in support section of you website,  and tried to print the value - but no luck at all.

Everything I need is access to certain Test-suite parameters within any child node of that Test-Suite and ability to pass it from outside of QF-Test.

Many thanks,
Erik M
