up-to-now you could use a variable in the timeout value and set the value according to your needs.

"Wait for absence" activated and a 0 timeout should do fine and will
avoid the default 5 sec delay.

Is it possible to change the value of the timeout option 'Wait for
non-existent component' temporary during a test? I want to check a
certain number of component names if they exist on the GUI (with 'try'
and 'catch'), but the performance is too bad if the system is waiting
during 5 seconds after each 'try', until the catch ist executed.
