Hi Mark,

this would be one scenario for the run-log solution.
I will keep this in mind, ...

Martin

Hello Martin,

If you really want to use your own user in the tests, you have to read
the password out of an encrypted file and set the password variable in an
server-script node (Insert Node -> Control structures -> Server script)
to the according value. If you do so, you won't see the password in the
test-suite window itself, but you could still see the password in the
run-log. But that might be the best approach.

perhaps the idea is too simple: But as you suggested the password could be
stored encrypted in an external file (or even in a variable). One problem,
as you stated, is that the variable expansion is logged. So wouldn't it
be a solution if qftest would allow a variable syntax which explicitly
prohibits logging of the result of a variable expansion? No matter what
the actually setting is telling?

Of course you would also need an equivalent solution in the server script.
rc.setLocal(..., noLogFlag) is the first which comes into my mind.

Kind Regards,
- Mark
