Yes, that should be possible.
If you create a shell script for login to postgress and empty the table, this
script e.g. can be executed via a "Execute Shell Command" node. Please see
manual chapter "15.6  Processes" further details.

There are different features in qftest to support you in working with data

 - A "Check Items" node (15.4.2  Check items) may help to check an entire data
 - A "Fetch Index" node (15.5.2  Fetch index) helps to resolve the index of row
   containing certain data.
 - Row and Column count can be retrieved be using an SUT script node using the
   Java table methods getRowCount() and getColumnCount().
