License Types and Models License Types All QF-Test licenses are floating and entitle you to run one instance of the program at any given time, independent of the machine it is running on or the person operating it. Multiple licenses allow multiple instances of QF-Test to be run concurrently within one site or network. For all QF-Test products there are two types of license available: Development licenses

A development license allows unrestricted use of the full functionality of QF-Test, i.e. development and saving of test suites as well as runtime features like test execution and debugging.

Runtime licenses

Runtime licenses allow execution and debugging of tests as well as temporary modifications of test-suites, but saving of test-suites is not possible.
Runtime licenses are especially useful for individual test runs, nightly batch runs or load testing with multiple concurrent virtual users.

Examples of use

	If there is one tester who wants to be able to develop new tests while running existing tests in parallel (on a different machine or display), one development and one runtime license (or two development licenses) are required.
	If there is one tester who wants to be able to develop new tests during the day and run nightly automated tests in batch mode - i.e. not in parallel - one development license is sufficient.

Standard Licensing Model

The usual way is to purchase a number of QF-Test licenses, optional in combination with a maintenance contract. Such licenses are permanently valid.

License leasing

For tight budgets leasing of QF-Test licenses might be an attractive alternative.

At a minimum number of three development or five runtime licenses, we offer license leasing on a yearly basis, including full maintenance. If you require a large number of runtime licenses temporarily for load testing, we also offer leasing for periods of less than a year. Part of the costs for leasing can be credited against a later license purchase.

Academic licenses

For use in academic research projects and for teaching, QF-Test licenses are available at a reduced price.

Open source project licenses

We are supporting open source projects by offering long-term evaluation licenses which are freely extendable.
